Congratulations to Sherry Rogers-Harrison! She was awarded the Wall Longarm Machine Quilting Award for Her quilt Tribal Fusion Sherry placed 9th in the top ten winners at AQS in Paducah!!! Her $3000.00 prize winnings were generously sponsored by Handi Quilter http://www.handiquilter.com
The AQS Long-arm Quilting Award, was presented to the quilt that displayed the best long-arm quilt in a wall-sized quilt. Handi Quilter developed the first portable home machine quilting frame system. As long-arm quilting machines continue to increase in popularity for both home and commercial quilters, the AQS is seeing a rise in the number of machine-quilted entries.
"More and more entries in the AQS Quilt Contest are being quilted on long-arm machines," said Bonnie Browning, AQS executive show director. "This sponsorship will be an excellent way to recognize the talents and efforts of those quilters who are utilizing long-arm capabilities in creating their quilts."
