Fun at Quilt Market in Houston

We had a blast at Quilt Market in Houston!  I love Quilt Market because I get to meet so many wonderful people.  The quilts on display are also very inspiring.  I also get to show off new products and projects that we've been working on.  Some of the exciting new things we showed off at Market are:

  • Fabric Image Color Indexing.  When you upload a fabric image, the system will analyze the colors in the image and find other fabric images in your online catalog that coordinate with the new item.  It will automatically build an index allowing website visitors to find similar fabrics by coordinating colors.
  • AllQuilting.biz. AllQuilting.biz is the world's largest quilting directory.  Visitors to our booth were invited to create a free account on the system.
  • Schoolhouse Presentation titled "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Quilt Store Owners."  We had a full house!  You're welcome to download the slides from the presentation on this page.
  • Facebook, Facebook, Facebook!  Facebook is huge and is going to be a big contender is 2012.  Our studies show that 71% of quilters that shop online use Facebook.  Were offering free Facebook Creation services to those desiring to have a Facebook presence. 
  • Dozens of improvements to our products:
    • Load products into the shopping cart system easier and faster than before
    • Upload images very easily
    • Manage the content of your website from the front end (no longer need to edit content from the Dash). This allows you to see how your text will blend in with the rest of your site.
    • USPS Autofill. Fill out the shipping label in one click on USPS.com! A huge time saver.
    • Improved Quickbooks integration.  Have all of your online orders download right into Quickbooks.
    • JMM Software Integration. Although we have had this feature for over a year, it has improved dramatically in recent months.  As far as I'm aware, we are the only service provider for the quilting industry that supports two-way integration with JMM Software's TRS 10 & 11.
    • Facebook e-Commerce.  Our shopping cart system now has the ability to run inside of your Facebook page, allowing your visitors to buy from you easily online.
